Austin, Texas - The Governor of Texas has named Peru State alum, Dr. Feyi Obamehinti, as chair of the Diabetes Council. Obamehint was first appointed to the council in 2018.

From the press release announcing three new members, "Additionally, Governor Abbott has designated Feyi Obamehinti, Ed.D as chair of the council."

"The council addresses issues affecting people with diabetes in Texas and advises the Texas Legislature on legislation that is needed to develop and maintain a statewide system of quality education services to all people with diabetes and health professionals who offer diabetes treatment and education."

Obamehinti currently resides in Keller, Texas, and is the Managing Director of Ravir LLC, an educational consulting and technical firm. She also serves as a member of the Association for Supervision and Curriculum, Women Impacting Public Policy Education Foundation, and National Small Business Association Leadership.

Obamehinti earned a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Peru State College, and a Doctorate in Education from Texas A&M University.

Obamahinti was also featured in a story on Femigrants.org. Femigrants.org seeks “to empower diverse immigrant women of America to become powerful leaders, professionals, and entrepreneurs.”
