Security Assistant

Start Date


Peru State College Security seeks a Student Security Assistant.

Applications will be reviewed immediately and the position will be open until filled.

Starting date is August 23, 2021.

The work hours will be determined based on campus activities.  Some day and evening shifts weekly and shifts during athletic and campus events.

 

Salary


$11.50 per hour

 

Qualifications


Security Assistant must be dependable and reliable.  Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions both walking and standing for long periods of time.  Must be able to adapt to changing situations.  Must maintain composure under pressure and communicate professionally.  Security Assistant will need be able to maintain a high degree of integrity.

 

Responsibilities


Security Assistant .   As a Security Assistant, you will be assigned to work a shift with a Security Officer.  The Security Assistant is a supportive role that will assist the Security Officer with following duties:

  • Providing Vehicle Assistance (Jump Starts/Changing flat tires)
  • Building Lockup
  • Safety Escorts
  • Residence Hall and Staff Office Lock Outs
  • Campus Patrol and Parking Enforcement
  • Traffic Control during campus events
  • Security for Athletic Events and other Campus Events
  • Assist Security Officer with other duties to include emergency situations 
  • Answering Phone and Radio Calls
  • Office Work

Required Testing/Certification:
Successful Background Check

Job Performance Evaluation:

  • A job performance evaluation will be completed at the end of each semester. It will evaluate job knowledge, quality of work, initiative and dependability.
