Linda has been with the Nebraska State College System since 1981. She earned her
undergraduate (BA Business Management) and graduate (MA Ed) degrees from Chadron State
College and served as their Business Manager for 15 years. In 1996, Linda came to
Peru State College as the Business Manager and in 2000, was promoted to Vice President
for Administration and Finance. She served in that position for 9 years and then
took an early retirement in 2009 in favor of teaching online.
In the nine years that Linda was the Vice President for Administration and Finance
at Peru State College, she supervised over $44 million in campus construction and
renovation projects which brought a fresh and renewed appearance to campus. Those
projects included the Hoyt Science, Morgan, Administration, Wheeler, CATS, Centennial
Complex, TJ Majors, Library, and Jindra Fine Arts buildings. She is very happy to
see that renovation projects have continued to enhance the campus after her retirement
in areas such as the Oak Bowl.
Prior to her work with the Nebraska State College System, she served as the Chief
Financial Officer for a major non-profit corporation in Northwest Nebraska. She was
appointed to represent Nebraska for the Federal Regional Committee on Standardized
Systems in Personnel Management. She traveled a four-state region conducting training
seminars for boards of directors and management staff in the areas of personnel policy
development and board responsibilities from 1977 to 1981.
Professional affiliations include the National Association of College and University
Business Officers. Linda has also been awarded the Professional Diploma from the
Central Association of College and University Business Officer’s Collegiate Management
Institute.
In 2005 Linda led the effort to bring Peru State College back into full affiliation
with the Nebraska Statewide Arboretum. That year she also earned the credentials
of Certified Arborist from the International Society of Arboriculture. Linda has
also served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Nebraska Statewide Arboretum.
Linda and her husband Jay are now full-time RV'ers and spend their winters in Arizona
and summers traveling in the northern states.
