National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE)

The National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE) measures the extent to which students are engaged in their own learning and what an institution does to provide the resources and support so that they are inescapable. Peru State College administers the survey every three years to first-year students and senior students in the spring semester, the most recent administration was in spring of 2019. The results provided below are specific to different audiences in the form of infographics compared to our comparison group, Plain Public. Additional snapshot reports are provided on this page as well for the past six administrations of the survey. Also, for the first time in spring 2019, Peru State College administered the Faculty Survey of Student Engagement (FSSE), a companion survey to the NSSE. This survey asks faculty the extent that they are participating in certain educational activities or the importance they place on students engaging in educational purposeful activities. Information on the NSSE and FSSE can be found at their website: https://nsse.indiana.edu/.
